Is this a valid angle to look at? StatFox Jim believes it is and he shares some historical patterns that could give you an edge as you take on the oddsmakers in the NBA this month. Read on for all of it...

NBA - In the West, Portland GM Kevin Pritchard continues his march to best GM in the league. The Hornets’ Chris Paul makes everyone around him better. Andrew Bynum toughens the Laker front line. Houston is a title contender assuming they stay healthy and Ron Artest doesn’t implode the team.
    2008-09 NBA Eastern Conference Preview
NBA - In the East, one of the biggest moves up from last season will be Milwaukee with a new coach, two All-Stars, & an emerging Andrew Bogut. Philly’s stock moves up while a blend of youth and vets put the Hawks into post-season again
NBA Preview '08-09: Teams hope to emulate Celtics
NBA - This past year proved anything is possible. The previous year’s worst team can win the NBA Championship and a hockey mom can be nominated for vice-president. To quote ‘80’s Russian comic, Yakov Smirnoff, “What a country”! Like the Celtics of '07-08, several teams have made big personnel changes, hoping for instant results. High aspirations are naturally expected by fans of these teams. But who is going to play for the bling next June?
