Road Success Carries Top MLB Teams
Major League Baseball is streaking towards the All-Star Break, literally, as several teams have put together lengthy winning or losing streaks in the last several weeks, including Oakland and Florida on the positive side and Atlanta on the slide. We're here today though to talk about overall success, and the impact that playing well on the road has had on the league's top teams. As you examine the numbers we're about to present, one thing will stand out, that being the incredible success the contenders have enjoyed when playing away from home, both in the standings, and at the betting window.
A few notable home/road trends have formed thus far:

1: Heading into Thursday's action, 13 teams were above .500 overall. Ten of those teams had winning road records. Combined, these 13 teams were producing 54.35 units of profit on the road, compared to just 1.45 units at home.

2: The 17 teams playing .500 baseball or below overall have combined for a winning percentage of just 39.9% on the road for -67.93 units!

3: Of the top 17 teams in terms of record, 10 had produced better return on the road than at home so far this season. Additionally, only five of the league's 30 teams were positive unit return both home and away.

4: The top teams in each league, the Tigers and Mets, had combined for a record of 51-23 on the ROAD, for +27.95 units of profit!

Here is a chart detailing the home and road records for all 30 teams. Highlighted are those teams with a significant difference between home and away performance.

In a great inter-league series, two of the top World Series contenders get together in Detroit for three games as the Tigers host the Cardinals. St. Louis has separated itself from the rest of the pack in the NL Central Division again, despite the injury to Albert Pujols. The star slugger is back in the lineup, and with the way the Cards pitched in Chicago this past week, they'll need all the hitting help they can get. This could be a great time to get on board and back the Cards,as the return of Pujols is sure to give them a boost.

The Tigers meanwhile, continue to maintain a slim lead over the White Sox in the AL Central Division. However, despite owning the best record and the top money line unit return in all of baseball, oddsmakers continue to show that they are not sold on the men from Motown. In fact, you can find some very attractive futures props available at sites like HollywoodSportsbook.com, where the Tigers at 8-1 to win the World Series, and 7-2 to win the AL Pennant. Those odds are worse than three other teams in the American League! Don't miss out on what could be a big payout come October.

You can get all of the handicapping information you need for Saturday's middle game of this series by visiting our Special Edition Interleague Baseball Feature FoxSheet! First pitch for that game is scheduled for 7:05 PM ET, so get to the window early.
