EDMONTON 37, CALGARY 16 -----------------------
CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- Ricky Ray tossed three touchdown passes - including two to Fred Stamps - to lead the Edmonton Eskimos to a 37-16 rout of the Calgary Stampeders.
A.J. Harris ran for nine-yard score and Noel Prefontaine kicked a pair of field goals and a single for the Eskimos (6-3).
Ray completed 26-of-38 passes for 376 yards and an one interception. He hooked up with Stamps on a 22-yard touchdown in the third quarter and a 25-yard score in the fourth.
Joffrey Reynolds scored from three yards out and Sandro DeAngelis kicked three field goals for the Stampeders (5-4).
TORONTO 34, HAMILTON 31 -----------------------
HAMILTON, Ontario (Ticker) -- Kerry Joseph passed for 399 yards and a touchdown to lift the Toronto Argonauts to a 34-31 triumph over the rival Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Joseph completed 18-of-33 passes and rushed for 49 yards on six carries. He had just replaced former starter Michael Bishop, who was traded to Saskatchewan nine days ago.
Bryan Crawford scored the go-ahead touchdown from one yard out at 6:57 of the fourth quarter and former NFL Pro Bowler Mike Vanderjagt kicked four field goals for Toronto (4-5), which gave up 259 rushing yards.
Casey Printers passed for 161 yards and a score with 68 yards rushing and two TDs for Hamilton (2-7), while Jesse Lumsden rushed for 104 yards. |
