MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - The learning curve continues for infielder Grant Green, while the Los Angeles Angels hope one of their best starters is OK.

An error by Green at second base led to two unearned runs - one on a bases-loaded walk - and the Minnesota Twins rallied to beat the Angels 6-3 on Monday night.

The win ended a 10-game losing streak at Target Field for Minnesota, and was just the second loss in 10 road games for Los Angeles, which began a season-long 10-game trip with this makeup of an April 17 rainout.

Jered Weaver battled some forearm stiffness but threw his fourth straight quality start for the Angels, allowing three earned runs, nine hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out five.

``I started to tighten up there in the third or fourth and got through the sixth and (manager Mike) Scioscia didn't want to push me anymore, which is understandable,'' Weaver said. ``It's nothing concerning, just the hot and humid air and losing a lot of fluids and stuff it just started to tighten up a little bit, but it's not a concern.''

The game time temperature was 93 degrees with a dew point in the upper 60s.

Kole Calhoun had three hits for Los Angeles; Josh Hamilton and Mark Trumbo added two each.

Tied 3-3 entering the bottom of the seventh inning, Brian Dozier led off with a walk against Angels reliever Cory Rasmus (0-1). Oswaldo Arcia then grounded to Green for a likely double play; however, Green's admittedly rushed throw went past shortstop Erick Aybar and into left field allowing Dozier and Arcia to take second and third. Dozier scored two batters later on a sacrifice fly by Trevor Plouffe. Arcia scored when Buddy Boshers walked Pedro Florimon with the bases loaded later in the inning.

``We were within really a pitch of giving up one run which would have helped,'' Scioscia said. ``We just had some young pitchers that inning that lost their release point and it opened it up for them, and with the error, too.''

Acquired from Oakland on July 30, Green, a standout collegiate shortstop who was drafted in the first round by the A's in 2009, continues to adjust to his new look on the right side of the infield.

``It's one of those plays that the more and more you do the easier it becomes, but you've got to get those game reps,'' Green said. ``You can try to simulate it in practice, but it's just not the same. The more reps I get the more natural it'll become. ... It's something I'll learn from and the next time I get that exact same play I'll make it.''

Scioscia is pleased with what he's seen thus far, but knows there is room for Green to grow. The 25-year-old has been getting a lot of instruction from Alfredo Griffin, the team's first base coach, and longtime Toronto shortstop.

``I feel more comfortable there,'' Green said. ``My first steps are getting better and better and just getting the game reps has really been paying off.''

Casey Fien (4-2) earned the victory with a scoreless seventh and Glen Perkins pitched the ninth for his 33rd save. Rookie Josmil Pinto went 3 for 4 with three doubles and a run scored for the Twins.

``We needed a win,'' Minnesota manager Ron Gardenhire said.

Trailing 1-0 in the fourth, the Angels scored two runs on three hits off Pedro Hernandez, making his second start since being recalled from Triple-A Rochester. Calhoun had an RBI double for his 14th RBI in 15 games.

The Angels added a run in the fifth on Hamilton's double. However, Los Angeles finished 2 for 12 with runners in scoring position.

NOTES: The Angels optioned IF Tommy Field to Triple-A Salt Lake. ... Angels 2B Howie Kendrick, out since Aug. 6 because of a hyperextended left knee, could be available as soon as Tuesday, Scioscia said. Kendrick was injured after colliding with a teammate while chasing a pop fly. ... Los Angeles finished the season 1-5 against Minnesota. ... Attendance was announced at 21,826 the lowest in the nearly four years Target Field has been open. ... The Angels open a three-game series Tuesday in Toronto with Jerome Williams (6-10) facing Toronto's Mark Buehrle (11-7).
