After their new-look lineup showed late signs of life in snapping their skid, the Atlanta Braves hope to finally put it all together as they open a nine-game homestand.

The Milwaukee Brewers, meanwhile, are looking to move past their own offensive struggles on the road.

As Mike Minor attempts to build on his best effort since returning from injury, the Braves seek their fourth straight home win while dealing the Brewers their seventh loss in nine road games Monday night.

With Atlanta ranking 29th in the majors in runs per game (3.15) and averaging just 2.28 since April 29, manager Fredi Gonzalez shook things up Sunday by starting Dan Uggla (.178), Gerald Laird (.158) and Jordan Schafer (.115) and moving Andrelton Simmons (.268) up to the fifth spot.

The Braves (23-19) managed only five hits through eight innings with Uggla, Laird, Schafer and Simmons going hitless, but they rallied for two runs in the ninth to salvage a 6-5 win in St. Louis.

Justin Upton and Freddie Freeman led the way by teaming for five hits - two homers - and four RBIs to help Atlanta end a three-game slide.

"I feel this team can hit anybody at any given time," Gonzalez told the team's official website. "Talented bunch of guys, we just haven't gotten going."

Gonzalez's pitching staff, which has a baseball-best 2.82 ERA, limited the NL Central-leading Brewers (27-17) to four runs while winning two of three at Miller Park from March 31-April 2.

Now they're hoping to continue that success as they open a four-game set with Minor (1-2, 4.24 ERA) taking the mound.

Minor, who missed the first month with a sore shoulder, snapped an eight-start winless streak Tuesday when he allowed three hits over 6 2-3 innings in a 5-0 victory at San Francisco.

"Hopefully, he can keep giving us these kind of quality starts," Gonzalez said.

Minor has gone 1-1 with a 1.35 ERA in three starts against the Brewers since 2012. He's done a nice job containing Ryan Braun, who is 0 for 7 with three strikeouts lifetime off the left-hander.

Carlos Gomez, who homered off Minor in a 5-0 road win Sept. 23, was out Sunday due to a stomach ailment after missing the previous four games because of a three-game suspension and a sore back.

Gomez leads Milwaukee with nine homers and is tied for the team lead with 21 RBIs, but is hitting just .182 in his last 17 games against the Braves.

Rickie Weeks is 17 for 32 over his last 17 games after hitting a two-run homer Sunday, though it was the only offense the Brewers could muster in a 4-2 loss at Wrigley Field.

Since winning 11 of 12 road games, Milwaukee has totaled 19 runs while going 2-6 away from home.

Wily Peralta (4-2, 2.05) has been able to keep the Brewers close, giving up two earned runs or fewer in seven of his eight starts. He surrendered one over seven innings Wednesday before Francisco Rodriguez allowed three ninth-inning runs in a 4-1 home loss to Pittsburgh.

The right-hander has given up one run over 13 innings in two career starts against the Braves.

The Brewers took two of three at Turner Field in September after losing their previous eight there.
