MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES (43-30)

at DENVER NUGGETS (32-41)

Tip-off: Monday, 9:05 p.m. ET
Line: Memphis -3, Total: 201.5

Both the Grizzlies and Nuggets will be looking to snap losing streaks when the two square off in Denver on Monday evening.

Memphis lost its second straight game on Sunday, falling 105-98 in Portland, to drop the team to ninth in the Western Conference. But the Grizzlies are still just one-half game behind both Phoenix and Dallas. Denver's current three-game losing skid is not a big surprise considering those defeats occurred to San Antonio (twice) and Oklahoma City. The Nuggets, on the other hand, are already eliminated from playoff contention so the Memphis a lot more to play for in this matchup. These two teams have split victories this season as both teams have won SU on their own home court, but the Grizzlies are 2-0 ATS in the season series. Denver is 3-1 SU and 2-2 ATS versus Memphis when playing at home over the past three seasons despite the Grizzlies 5-4 record overall (SU and ATS) in that time. Memphis is 25-13 ATS versus Northwest Division opponents over the past two seasons and facing a Denver team that is 1-9 ATS in the past two seasons in home games after having lost three of its previous four contests. However, the Nuggets are 21-10 ATS in March games over the past two seasons.

StatFox Gary is also heating up with a 59% ATS mark (17-12) since Feb. 13, while StatFox Zach is a stellar 73% ATS (11-4) since March 9.

The Grizzlies are coming off of a 105-98 loss in Portland in which PF Zach Randolph (17.4 PPG, 10.1 RPG) led the team in scoring with 21 points (10-of-17 FG). Over the past five games, Randolph has been on a tear offensively with 19.8 PPG and 8.8 RPG. In two games against Denver this season, Randolph has been even better, averaging 22.5 PPG and 9.5 RPG. He has a major mismatch going up against the smaller forwards of the Nuggets. C Marc Gasol (14.0 PPG, 6.8 RPG, 1.4 BPG) has also been playing well offensively for Memphis with 15.8 PPG, 8.0 RPG and 1.0 BPG over the past five contests. The Grizzlies played without Gasol in both meetings with the Nuggets this season and his size at the center position could cause this Denver club a lot of problems as it prefers to play a fast-paced, small-ball lineup. PG Mike Conley (17.2 PPG, 6.0 APG) is averaging 19.8 PPG (51% FG, 39% threes) and 6.2 APG over the past five contests, and in the two meetings between these teams this season, Conley is averaging 18.5 PPG and 6.0 APG. His matchup with Ty Lawson at the point guard position will come a long way in determining who wins this game.

The Nuggets have lost three straight games and were beat down in their last game on Friday by the Spurs, 133-102 at home. The Nuggets have an excellent offense, averaging 103.7 PPG (9th in NBA), but they really struggle defensively where they surrender 106.3 PPG (28th in NBA). PG Ty Lawson (17.8 PPG, 8.8 APG) has been off his game recently, averaging just 14.2 PPG (42% FG) and 7.2 APG over the past five contests. He will need to play well on both sides of the ball, as he will be matched up against a very savvy player in Mike Conley. PF Kenneth Faried (12.8 PPG, 8.1 RPG) has been on a tear in his past four games, averaging 18.3 PPG and 10.5 RPG. Faried will need to use his speed and athleticism, as he will be matched up against a much slower Zach Randolph at the power forward position. Defensively, Faried could have major trouble, as Randolph is much stronger and much more physical inside. SG Randy Foye (12.4 PPG, 3.1 APG) had 20 points in the loss to the Spurs on Friday. Foye provides a big spark for the Nuggets' offense when he is on, but he is very inconsistent. C Timofey Mozgov (8.5 PPG, 6.1 RPG) is averaging 9.0 PPG and 7.6 RPG over his past five contests and could see a lot of action in this one as he will be needed to guard Marc Gasol in certain lineups.
