The Masters Prop Bets

Tees Off: Thursday, April 10
Augusta National Golf Course – Augusta, GA

Phil Mickelson finishing position: OVER 14.5 (-110)
It is no secret that “Lefty” has not looked like his old self this season, as he has played nine events on the PGA Tour without a top-10 finish. He has not been quite as good with his wedges this season, ranking 34th in scrambling (61%), and will not be able to overcome his lack of driving prowess, where he ranks 88th in driving distance (288.0) and 132nd in driving accuracy (57%).

Matt Kuchar finishing position: UNDER 16.5 (-115)
Kuchar has been on a tear coming into the Masters with a fourth-place finish two weeks ago and a loss in a playoff last week at the Shell Houston Open. Granted, he has not been able to close out tournaments when he has the lead, but he has been able to remain near the top of the leaderboards for much of the season, and placed better than 13th in both World Golf Championship events. Also, Kuchar has been successful at Augusta in each of the past two years, placing third in 2012 and then eighth in last year’s event.

Harris English first-round score: UNDER 72 (-105)
English is a darkhorse this week to take home a green jacket in his first ever attempt, and has shot a 72 or better in the first round of each of his 13 tournaments played this season. He has used his amazing ability to hit greens in regulation (73.0%, best on tour) to compile an opening round scoring average of 68.7, the sixth best mark on the PGA Tour this season.

Will Fred Couples make the cut?: NO (+190)
Couples has actually surprised many with his finishes at the Masters over the past few years, placing in the top-15 in each event since 2010. Unfortunately, his time is coming where he will be unable to compete against some of the new young players, and he failed to make the cut in the one PGA tournament this season at the Northern Trust Open. He also did poorly in his one European Tour showing, placing 54th in the Omega Dubai Classic. The one-time green jacket winner just will not be able to cut it this year.

Adam Scott finishing position: OVER 11.5 (-115)
Scott is on top of the odds to win this tournament after taking home his first green jacket last season, but defending champions have not fared well over the past seven years. Over that time, the defending champ has averaged a finish of 30th as they try to win the Masters for a second consecutive time. Whether it is nerves or just coincidence, no player has done well attempting to defend his title since Tiger Woods finished tied for third in 2006.
