TEXAS TECH RED RAIDERS (2-1)
at OKLAHOMA STATE COWBOYS (2-1)

Kickoff: Thursday 7:30 p.m. ET
Line: Okahoma State -13.5, Total: 71.5

Big 12 play gets underway Thursday night as No. 24 Oklahoma State plays host to Texas Tech.

Here is the BetDSI Sportsbook betting preview for this matchup:

Texas Tech comes into this game coming off a blowout 49-28 loss to Arkansas. In that game, the Red Raiders gave up 438 rushing yards on 6.4 YPC, and in the past three seasons, they are 0-7 ATS when allowing at least 42 points in their previous game. However, they are also 21-8 ATS coming off a home loss since 1992. This past week has been tough for Texas Tech (0-3 ATS), which saw its defensive coordinator Matt Wallerstedt quit the team for personal reasons. For head coach Kliff Kingsbury and his team to right the ship, they will have to get a big performance from the defense. The Cowboys have bounced back nicely since nearly pulling off an upset against No. 1 Florida State to open the season. QB Daxx Garman (559 pass yards, 4 TD) came in for an injured J.W. Walsh (foot) in a victory against Missouri State and has played great football in the past two games. The Cowboys have dominated this series with five straight victories by an average margin of 28.0 PPG, thanks to scoring 66, 59 and 52 points in the past three meetings. Besides Walsh, who is out indefinitely, the only other injuries in this game are Texas Tech DE Gary Moore (chest) and OL Baylen Brown (calf), who are both questionable for Thursday.

Can Oklahoma State win big on Thursday night? For the answer, connect to College Football Best Bets for all the StatFox Experts picks throughout the 2014 regular season and bowl season. The experts went a combined 10-7 ATS (59%) last week, highlighted by StatFox Scott's 3-1 ATS mark and StatFox Gary's 2-1 ATS record.

Last season, Texas Tech got off to a 7-0 start before falling off towards the end of the season. The offense once again has the ability to move the ball down the field, as QB Davis Webb (982 pass yards, 7.7 YPA, 10 TD, 4 INT) has a big arm, and he has the weapons around him to put up big numbers. WRs Jakeem Grant (20 catches, 283 yards, 1 TD) and Bradley Marquez (18 catches, 251 yards, 5 TD) are terrific receivers. Grant is dynamic in the slot, but he stands only 5-foot-6. Marquez has a more prototypical wide receiver build at 6-feet and 203 pounds, and he can make plays in both the short and deep passing game. While the air attack is good, it needs to have the ability to run the ball to help keep the defense fresh. Junior RB DeAndre Washington (214 rush yards, 5.4 YPC, 1 TD) does a great job of using his offensive line to set up the blocks while also helping out in the passing game with eight catches for 53 yards. The Red Raiders are going to put up some points in this game, but they will have to play much better on the defensive side of the ball. Their scoring defense ranks 112th in the country (34.7 PPG allowed), while surrendering 433 total YPG, including 298 rushing YPG on 5.1 YPC. DB Keenon Ward (21 tackles) is tied for the most tackles on the Red Raiders, but a lot of his stops are coming against the run when the opposing back is already to the second level. Junior LB Pete Robertson (21 tackles, 1 sack) helps man the middle of the defensive unit. The Cowboys are playing well on offense, but their quarterback is still making his first start in Big 12 play, so look for the Red Raiders to try and put some pressure on him.

Oklahoma State averages 38.0 PPG (36th in nation), while racking up 440 total YPG, including 264 YPG through the air (47th in FBS). The Cowboys have not run the ball very well this season (176.3 YPG, 57th in FBS), but after the performance of the Red Raiders against the run against Arkansas, look for Oklahoma State to establish its ground game early. RBs Tyreek Hill (135 rush yards, 5.9 YPC), Desmond Roland (123 rush yards, 3.7 YPC, 3 TD) and Rennie Childs (130 rush yards, 3.7 YPC, 2 TD) are all capable of running the ball well, and do it in different styles. Roland has shown his ability in the past, as he rushed for 811 yards and 13 touchdowns last season, including 96 yards and 3 TD in the 52-34 blowout win at Texas Tech. He is a bruising running back that can wear down opponents, just the same type of guy that Arkansas threw at the Red Raiders last week. WR Brandon Sheperd (7 catches, 178 yards, 2 TD) has big-play potential, catching an 87-yard touchdown in a Week 2 victory against Missouri State. The defense is a young, but extremely talented unit that is continuing to get better. LB Ryan Simmons (21 tackles, 3 TFL, 1 sack) is the leading tackler on a defense that allows 24.3 PPG (64th in nation). CB Ashton Lampkin (4 tackles, 2 INT) is a very talented player that can run with most receivers in the country. With the amount of times that Texas Tech is going to put the ball in the air, Lampkin will have his chances of getting another interception.
