USC TROJANS (3-2)
at ARIZONA WILDCATS (5-0)

Kickoff: Saturday 10:30 p.m. ET
Line: USC -2.5, Total: 68

No. 10 Arizona looks to stay undefeated when it is a home underdog to two-loss USC on Saturday night.

The Wildcats entered the poll after stunning Oregon last week, and will look for another big win against a Trojans team looking to bounce back from a stunning loss to Arizona State in the final seconds. USC was poised to move to 3-0 in the Pac 12, but gave up a Hail Mary touchdown on the final play of a 38-34 loss to the Sun Devils. USC is 6-3 SU in its past nine trips to the desert, but Arizona holds a 5-4 ATS advantage in this timeframe. These two schools have been very competitive the past two seasons, as each team has won one game, with both scores decided by a touchdown or less. Last year, they met in Los Angeles, with the Trojans getting the 38-31 victory. Wide receiver Nelson Agholor had a huge game in the matchup, catching seven passes for 161 yards and one touchdown. The Trojans offense gained 546 total yards of offense, while the Wildcats tallied 508 yards. If USC is able to put up those numbers again, they should be in great shape to get the win, as Arizona is 0-7 ATS over the past two seasons when giving up at least 28 points. But USC is only 1-8 ATS the past two seasons as a road favorite. The Wildcats got a big performance from its defense in the win against Oregon, as it held the Ducks to only 24 points. USC has some injuries to worry about with RB Tre Madden (toe) and LB Lamar Dawson (knee) both out and WR Ajene Harris (hamstring) downgraded to doubtful.

The Trojans enter the game ranked 33rd in FBS passing (282.0 YPG), 54th in scoring (33.0 PPG) and 62nd in rushing (174.6 YPG). QB Cody Kessler (1,380 pass yards, 10 TD, 0 INT) has been terrific this season. He has the ability to make all the throws on a football field, especially when airing it out deep. He also has one of the best receivers in college football in WR Nelson Agholor (35 catches, 324 yards, 3 TD). Agholor is a blur in the open field, and can get behind a defense in no time. WR JuJu Smith (18 catches, 207 yards) also has the makings of another Trojans star receiver. The running game is led by RB Javorius Allen (109 carries, 576 yards. 4 TD), who is a grind-it-out runner. He has also proven to be a threat out of the backfield, catching 19 passes for 250 yards. His workload should be bigger this week as RB Tre Madden's turf toe has still not properly healed, which could force Madden to redshirt this season. The USC offense has shown potential, and last week it was the defense that struggled. The unit looked so good early in the season, holding Stanford to only 10 points. However, against the Sun Devils, the defense allowed 541 total yards (510 passing), despite allowing Arizona State to convert only 3-of-12 third downs. DL Leonard Williams (30 tackles, 2.5 TFL, 2 sacks) is as good of a defensive player as there is in college football. There are very few lineman in the country that can block him one-on-one, so he is double-teamed the majority of the time. This opens up opportunities for LB Hayes Pullard (35 tackles, 3 PD, 1.5 TFL) and S Gerald Bowman (34 tackles, 1 INT, 1 TFL) to fly around to pursue the football.

Arizona enters this game with a lot of confidence, after going to Eugene and pulling the stunner against the Ducks. The offense of the Wildcats has been clicking all year, ranking 7th in the nation in passing (350 YPG), 21st in scoring (39.8 PPG) and 28th in rushing (224 YPG). A big reason why has been the emergence of QB Anu Solomon (1,741 pass yards, 14 TD and 4 INT). He has done a nice job for the most part of not turning the ball over, and leading an offense that has weapons all over the field. The duo of WRs Cayleb Jones (32 catches, 575 yards, 6 TD) and Austin Hill (18 catches, 275 yards and 3 TD) is as good as you will find in college football. Both have shown throughout the past two seasons the ability to make the big catch in the most crucial situations. The Wildcats running game has helped open up passing lanes, as freshman RB Nick Wilson (90 carries, 574 yards, 6 TD) and senior RB Terris Jones-Grigsby (45 carries, 267 yards, 3 TD), when healthy, gives Arizona more playmakers. While the offense has been great this season, it was the defense that stepped up late against the Ducks. The unit ranks 75th in the nation in scoring defense (26.6 PPG), but held the explosive Oregon offense to 24 points. LB Scooby Wright III (58 tackles, 8 TFL, 5 sacks) was able to take the ball away from Marcus Mariota near the end of the game, giving Arizona the victory. Safety Jared Tevis (45 tackles, 1.5 TFL) is the other big playmaker for this defense. This unit has continued to get better throughout the season, and will face another difficult matchup against the Trojans.
