LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS (3-1)

at GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS (3-0)

Tip-off: Wednesday, 10:35 p.m. ET
Line: Golden State -4.5, Total: 208

The fast-paced offenses of the Clippers and Warriors should put on show Wednesday night when they meet in Oakland.

Los Angeles has played some tight games this season and is a solid 3-1 SU with the one loss coming against Sacramento as a 9-point favorite. The close scores have put the Clippers ATS record at 0-4 while they have shot below 40% from the field twice and over 47.5% in the other two. On Monday they barely beat the 10-point underdog Jazz in L.A. by a score of 107-101 despite grabbing a season-low 37 rebounds. They did hit 51% of their shots while tallying six steals and swatting away six shots in the victory. Golden State looks like an inspired team this season and has started off the year with three consecutive SU and ATS victories while defeating its opponents by an average of 15.3 PPG. Their most impressive win thus far came in their recent game on Sunday versus the Blazers as the Warriors were 3.5-point underdogs and stole a 95-90 victory on the road. They have turned the ball over plenty so far, giving up the rock 19.7 times per game, but have done equally as well taking it away as they have forced their opponents into 22.3 turnovers per game. Golden State has dominated at home against Los Angeles in this matchup in the past two seasons at 6-1 (SU and ATS) while being 8-7 SU (9-6 ATS) overall. They met in last season’s playoffs with the Clippers winning the series in seven games and finished it off with a 126-121 win in the deciding game. Bettors should know that Los Angeles is 58-43 ATS (57%) after one or more consecutive overs since the start of the 2012-13 campaign while the Warriors are 9-2 ATS (82%) after two straight games where they allowed 15 or more offense rebounds. The one big injury to watch going into this game is that of PF David Lee (hamstring) who is questionable for Golden State.

Can the Clippers hand the Warriors their first loss of the season? For the answer, connect to The Platinum Sheet for all the Expert picks throughout the entire 2014-15 season. StatFox Zach posted a 54% ATS mark (65-56-4) in NBA Best Bets last season, while StatFox Forecaster had a 53.4% ATS (207-181-12) in featured games last season. StatFox Scott and StatFox Gary are both off to a 67% ATS start (4-2) to the young season, as the five experts have combined for a 53.3% ATS record (16-14).

The Clippers are once again showing that they have the talent to be one of the best offensive teams in the league, as they are scoring 102.5 PPG (43% FG) and have surpassed 105 points in 2-of-4 games. Their defense has not done quite as well, surrendering 100.0 PPG on 47.9% FG (8th-worst in NBA). PG Chris Paul (15.8 PPG, 10.0 APG, 5.3 RPG, 2.8 SPG) is coming off a triple-double (13 points, 12 assists, 10 rebounds) on Monday night and has at least two steals in each game thus far. In his career against the Warriors (29 games), Paul has averaged a hefty 23.4 PPG (51% FG), 10.0 APG, 4.3 RPG and 2.3 SPG. PF Blake Griffin (27.5 PPG, 7.8 RPG) has played big minutes (38.5 MPG) over the first four contests in 2014-15 while scoring over 30 points twice and doing better from the free-throw line (77% FT). He’s never had any issues against Golden State either, averaging a double-double (22.5 PPG, 10.4 RPG) in 16 career meetings against them. SG Jamal Crawford (19.0 PPG, 4.0 APG) has continued his role as one of the best scorers in the league coming off the bench and has gone for 14.6 PPG (40% FG) in his career against the Warriors (26 games, 10 starts). C DeAndre Jordan (7.8 PPG, 9.3 RPG, 1.8 BPG, 1.0 SPG) looks to be a defensive force once again this season while recording 10.3 PPG (64% FG), 15.3 RPG and 3.5 BPG in his four games against Golden State in 2013-14.

Golden State has made it known that it wants to push the ball this season under new head coach Steve Kerr, and has been impressive through three games with 105.7 PPG (4th in NBA) on 48.1% FG (5th in league) despite a pedestrian 33% threes (15th in NBA). What has been even more solid is the Warriors defense, which has given up a mere 90.3 PPG (2nd in league) on a paltry 39.5% FG and 23.7% threes. Both of these defensive shooting percentages lead the NBA. PG Stephen Curry (25.3 PPG, 7.0 APG, 6.7 RPG, 3.7 SPG) is one of the stars of the league while having at least two steals in each game, but is shooting a meager 27% from behind the arc. He’s looked great over his 19 career games facing the Clippers, dropping 19.1 PPG (48% FG), 6.4 APG and 1.2 SPG on them with 58-of-116 (50%) three pointers going in. SG Klay Thompson (29.7 PPG, 1.7 SPG, 46% threes) had a career-high 41 points against the Lakers in the second game of the season and did well against the Clips over four games last season with 18.8 PPG. C Andrew Bogut (7.0 PPG, 9.0 RPG, 2.7 BPG) has had at least two blocks in each contest this season while getting double-digit rebounds in each of the past two games. He has averaged 11.6 PPG (56% FG) and 8.4 RPG over his 14 career meetings with Los Angeles.
