MILWAUKEE BUCKS (16-16)

at CLEVELAND CAVALIERS (18-13)

Tip-off: Wednesday, 7:05 p.m. ET
Line: Cleveland -4, Total: 203

The Cavaliers look to avoid a three-game losing streak when they host the Bucks on Wednesday, but they might be severely short-handed. Cleveland could be missing its two best frontcourt players in SF LeBron James (knee) and PF Kevin Love (back), who are both listed as questionable.

Milwaukee traveled to Charlotte on Monday and came away with a 104-94 overtime victory as a 3-point road underdog. The team has now won two of its past three contests SU, and is 2-0-1 ATS in those games. The Bucks are 7-1-1 ATS over their past nine contests as well. Meanwhile, Cleveland lost its second straight game in a 109-101 loss as a 6.5-point underdog in Atlanta. The club has now lost three of its past four games (SU and ATS), and is 3-9 ATS in the past 12 contests. These two teams met at Quicken Loans Arena already this season and the Cavs won the game 111-108 as 11-point favorites, marking their fourth straight SU home win in this series. But over the past three seasons, they hold just a slight 5-4 SU advantage (4-5 ATS) when playing the Bucks. Milwaukee is 6-0 ATS after a game with five or fewer offensive rebounds this season, and 7-1 ATS when revenging a loss where its opponent scored 110+ points this year as well. Meanwhile, Cleveland is a lousy 1-10 ATS after one or more consecutive Overs. PF Larry Sanders (illness) is doubtful for the Bucks, and in addition to James and Love, the Cavs could also be without SF Shawn Marion, who is questionable with an injured ankle.

The Bucks are coming off an upset victory in Charlotte, thanks in large part to PG Brandon Knight (17.8 PPG, 5.2 APG, 4.5 RPG). He finished the game with 18 points, four assists, four rebounds and four steals in 36 minutes of action. Knight will need to be on top of his game again on Wednesday, as he’ll be matched up against the very talented Kyrie Irving. PF Giannis Antetokounmpo (12.0 PPG, 5.9 RPG) had one of his best games of the season against the Hornets, finishing with 16 points, eight rebounds, four assists and three blocks in 35 minutes. He should be in for a big game with LeBron James either sitting out or playing at less than full strength. One player who has been extremely hot for the Bucks recently is SG Jared Dudley (7.1 PPG, 2.8 RPG), who is averaging 15.2 PPG and 6.0 RPG in 30.0 MPG over the past five contests. He had 17 points and nine boards in the win over Charlotte and could do some serious damage off the bench for Milwaukee in this game. C Zaza Pachulia (7.1 PPG, 5.5 RPG) has scored at least 11 points in three straight games. He will be a tough player for the Cavs to cover, as they lack anybody that can protect the rim.

Cleveland is really struggling and could be without both SF LeBron James (25.2 PPG, 7.6 APG, 5.3 RPG) and PF Kevin Love (16.7 PPG, 10.1 RPG) on Wednesday. Love left Tuesday's loss to the Hawks with back spasms and the team will likely be cautious and not play Love on Wednesday. With both superstars either out or banged up, PG Kyrie Irving (20.7 PPG, 5.4 APG, 3.0 RPG) will need to have a huge game for this team to come away with a victory. Irving was excellent against the Hawks on Tuesday, finishing the game with 35 points, nine assists, six rebounds and two steals in 43 minutes of action. He’ll need to do something similar if this team is going to win on New Year's Eve. PF Tristan Thompson (9.3 PPG, 7.6 RPG) also had a big game against Atlanta, scoring 18 points and also grabbing 13 boards in 42 minutes. Thompson will be the team’s only inside scorer if Love is unable to go, and will need to contribute big minutes both offensively and defensively. One guy who played really well against Atlanta was SG Joe Harris (2.8 PPG), who scored a career-high 13 points in 27 minutes. Harris is a very good perimeter defender and a good three-point shooter, so he could see some action yet again on Wednesday.
