The Masters Prop Bets

Tees Off: Thursday, April 9th
Augusta National Golf Course – Augusta, GA

Margin of victory: Playoff (+250)
There has been no clear-cut player on tour this season who is dominating over everyone else. Jimmy Walker is the only player this year with multiple wins and Sunday has been cause for excitement each week as the leader heading into Sunday has failed to earn the win at 10 of the past 11 events. With all the clustering at the top of the leaderboard there is a great chance at this year’s Masters Tournament heading into extra holes as they face the tough course. In three of the past six installments in Augusta, there has been a playoff and surprisingly enough, the last time that a golfer won by just one stroke was in 2004. Look for an exciting finish again come Sunday afternoon.

Top South African: Charl Schwartzel (+300)
Schwartzel has pretty solid odds in this case considering he is a former Masters champion (2011) and has made the cut there in four of the past five seasons. The favorite in this group is Louis Oosthuizen, and while he was a runner-up in this event back in 2012, he is all-or-nothing with four missed cuts in four of his past six visits. Schwartzel seems to be the safe bet here and while it doesn’t look like a South African is winning it this year, he should be in the top-25.

Top Debutant: Brooks Koepka (+400)
Koepka gets the best odds in this group and for good reason, his huge driver (307.8 yards per, 4th on tour) will play well at this course and he ranks in the top-50 at bogey avoidance (14.61, 39th on tour). He’s been tremendous this year, making 7-of-7 cuts with three top-10s and added his first PGA win when he took down the trophy at the Waste Management Open back in February. Most of the other golfers getting top odds in this group are coming from overseas and have yet to make any sort of impact in the PGA despite their solid play elsewhere. Koepka has the makeup of a major winner and even though he’s the favorite here, he seems like a smart bet.

Henrik Stenson finishing position?: Under 18.5 (-120)
Stenson has been improving his standing in the Masters over each of the past four seasons, going from missing a cut in 2011 to his best showing of 14th last year. He is on a torrid pace coming into this one with a top-24 finish in each of his four events on the PGA with a top-four in his past three. He has gained an amazing 1.004 strokes putting (2nd on tour) and has the best scoring average on tour (69.301). Stenson does not have a major under his belt yet, but it is just a matter of time until he locks multiple down and a top-10 finish here seems like a near guarantee.

Top Senior Player: Vijay Singh (+300)
Of the players in this group, Singh has had the most recent success on the PGA tour with two top-25s on the year; including finishing 10th at the Valspar Championship. He has 34 career wins under his belt and has won two majors including the Masters, so he has the ability to compete under the pressure. Fred Couples and Miguel Angel Jimenez both sit in front of Singh in the odds and while they have the ability to be dominant on the Champions tour, but have not done anything on the big stage in a while. Singh has still been competitive on the tour and should be expected to put up a solid effort this week.
