MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES (54-25)

at LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS (53-26)

Tip-off: Saturday, 10:05 p.m. ET
Line: Los Angeles -8.0, Total: 195.5

The Clippers look to win their fifth straight game when they host the Grizzlies on Saturday.

The Grizzlies faced the Jazz in Utah last game and won 89-88 as 2.5-point road favorites. They have now won two straight games and four of their past five SU and they haven’t allowed their opponents to score over 92 points in any of those five games. The Clippers have been even better though, beating the Lakers 105-100 as 16.5-point home favorites last game for their four straight win SU and 11th of their past 12 as well. Los Angeles has covered in eight of those 11 games and the team has scored 105 or more points in all but one of those contests. In three meetings between these teams this season, the Grizzlies are 2-1 both SU and ATS. Over the past three seasons, Memphis is 4-3 SU and 5-2 ATS when hosting Los Angeles as well. Memphis is also 14-3 ATS in road games after playing five consecutive games as a favorite over the past three seasons. Los Angeles, however, is 24-12 ATS after two straight games with 10 or less offensive rebounds this season. PG Mike Conley (Ankle) is doubtful for this game and SG Tony Allen (Hamstring) is questionable. The Clippers are not currently dealing with any significant injuries.

The Grizzlies are looking to head into the postseason playing some solid basketball and C Marc Gasol (17.6 PPG, 7.9 RPG, 3.9 APG, 1.6 BPG) needs to stay hot for this team. Gasol had 22 points, seven boards and six assists in a win over the Jazz on Friday. He’s averaging 18.3 PPG and 8.7 RPG versus the Clippers this season and must be solid on the glass against a very active DeAndre Jordan. PF Zach Randolph (16.1 PPG, 10.6 RPG) is averaging just 12.3 PPG and 9.3 RPG on 41.5% shooting against the Clippers this season. He has met the team three times and is going to need to find out a way to be more effective against Blake Griffin in this one. Randolph should be feeling confident though, as he’s now had double-doubles in back-to-back games. SF Jeff Green (15.1 PPG, 4.3 RPG) is going to be extremely important for this team offensively in this game. With Mike Conley out, the Grizzlies are going to need some more scoring from Green. He’s only averaging 9.0 PPG in two meetings with the Clippers this season and he should be a lot better considering Los Angeles is weak at the small forward position.

The Clippers are one of the hottest teams in the NBA and PG Chris Paul (19.1 PPG, 10.2 APG, 4.6 RPG, 1.9 SPG) gets to face a Grizzlies team that he has lit up this season. In three meetings with Memphis, Paul is averaging 23.7 PPG and 9.3 APG. Memphis will also be without Mike Conley in this one, which means the team will really struggle to deal with Paul’s speed. SG J.J. Redick (16.4 PPG) is averaging 20.6 PPG over the past five contests. He’s shooting 48.5% from three in that span and should be able to get himself going offensively with Tony Allen out for the Grizzlies. PF Blake Griffin (22.0 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 5.2 APG) had just 12 points and four rebounds in 33 minutes the last time he faced Memphis. Griffin needs to use his speed to get by Zach Randolph in this one, as his team can’t afford for him to play as poorly on offense this time around. C DeAndre Jordan (11.4 PPG, 14.9 RPG, 2.2 BPG) is averaging 11.2 PPG, 15.6 RPG and 2.2 BPG over his past five contests. Jordan will need to make Gasol work hard on both ends and must protect the rim in this game.
