TCU HORNED FROGS (5-0)
at KANSAS STATE WILDCATS (3-1)

Bill Snyder Family Stadium - Manhattan, KS
Kickoff: Saturday, 7:30 p.m. ET
Line: TCU -10, Total: 63

No. 2 TCU tries to remain unbeaten when it brings its high-powered offense for a visit with 3-1 Kansas State on Saturday night.

The Horned Frogs are only 2-3 ATS this year, but have scored at least 50 points in four straight contests including a 50-7 home drubbing of Texas last week. The Wildcats (2-2 ATS) have also played well offensively with 30+ points in all four games, but have also allowed more than 30 points in two straight weeks, including a 36-34 loss at Oklahoma State last Saturday. These schools are meeting for just the fourth time as Big 12 foes, with KSU winning the first two matchups before falling 41-20 at TCU last season when it was out-rushed 334 to 34 in a game that featured both teams ranked in the top-7. When they last played in Manhattan, KS, it was the Wildcats eking out a 33-31 victory over a Horned Frogs team billed as 11-point underdogs. Although TCU falls in the category of road teams going 62-27 ATS (70%) in the past five seasons after allowing 14 points or less facing an opponent that allowed 31+ points in two straight games, Kansas State is a perfect 8-0 ATS in weeks 5 through 9 in the past three seasons, including 20-4 ATS in October games under head coach Bill Snyder. The Horned Frogs have only a couple injuries of concern with DL Pakamiaiaea Davis (knee) listed as questionable and DL Terrell Lathan (undisclosed) probable for Saturday. The Wildcats are decimated at the quarterback position with QBs Johnathan Banks (illness), Alex Delton (knee) and Jesse Ertz (knee) all out, QB Kody Cook (shoulder) questionable and projected starting QB Joe Hubener (head) listed as probable. Also, DB Cre Moore (legal problems) is out indefinitely and WR Dominique Heath (leg) is questionable.

TCU is averaging a whopping 50.8 PPG on 630 total YPG this season. QB Trevone Boykin has lived up to the Heisman hype with 1,802 passing yards (63% completions, 9.6 YPA), 19 TD and only 3 INT this season. Fourteen of those scores have gone to his dynamic duo of WRs Josh Doctson (42 rec, 722 yds, 8 TD) and KaVontae Turpin (14 rec, 245 yds, 6 TD). Doctson has three straight games with at least 129 receiving yards and 2 TD, including an insane 18-catch, 267-yard day in his last road game at Texas Tech. The freshman Turpin hauled in four touchdowns last week versus the Longhorns and finished with 138 yards on six catches. Boykin had his way with KSU last season when he totaled 342 yards and four touchdowns, as three of those came on the ground. The senior is currently second on his team with 242 rushing YPG, trailing only senior RB Aaron Green who has 504 yards on 5.8 YPC and six scores. Green was unstoppable versus the Wildcats last year as he rumbled for 171 yards on 18 carries (9.5 YPC) including a 65-yard touchdown. The Horned Frogs are collectively gaining 234 rushing YPG on 5.3 YPC this season, so Kansas State can't just focus on slowing down Boykin through the air. Defensively, TCU has been decent with 24.0 PPG allowed and 387 total YPG allowed, but those numbers have spiked to 34.5 PPG and 474 YPG over two road games. Neither the run-stop unit (175 YPG, 4.2 YPC) or passing defense (212 YPG, 6.4 YPA) has been particularly deficient, but the team has forced only one turnover in the past three games combined. This trend could continue Saturday against a very disciplined Wildcats team with only three giveaways all season.

Kansas State is gaining only 364 total YPG this season, but has still scored 34.2 PPG. The club has held the football for an average time of 32:37, but the ground game has produced only 166 rushing YPG on a subpar 3.9 YPC. Freshman RB Justin Silmon leads the rushing attack with 260 yards on 5.1 YPC and 2 TD, but is coming off a weak 50 yards on 15 carries (3.3 YPC) versus Oklahoma State. QB Joe Hubener threw only nine passes before getting injured in that game, but he is the likely starter on Saturday. The junior has completed only 51% of his throws this year, but still has 670 yards on 8.8 YPA, 4 TD and only 1 INT. He has rushed for just 17 yards on 12 carries the past two weeks, which is a huge drop-off from his 86 yards on 26 totes in the first two games. No KSU player has reached 200 receiving yards in 2015, and both top WRs Dominique Heath (11 rec, 170 yds, 1 TD) and Deante Burton (10 rec, 157 yds, 2 TD) need to find some open space on Saturday. The KSU defense has been phenomenal in stuffing the run by limiting opponents to a meager 71 YPG on 2.3 YPC. But the unit is also surrendering a hefty 288 passing YPG on a 61% completion rate and 6.6 YPA. This includes 755 passing yards in the past two games, where the Wildcats have fortunately forced two turnovers in each of those high-scoring affairs.
