The Sprint Cup Series heads to Richmond International Raceway for the last event of the regular season on Saturday. This one should be extremely fun to watch, as all of the drivers will have extra motivation to win and night races always provide a nice thrill. Martin Truex Jr. is likely the guy who will be looking forward to this race the most. Truex Jr. emerged victorious in last week’s Bojangles’ Southern 500, so he’ll have a ton of momentum on Saturday night. Denny Hamlin is another one that should be excited to get out there. Hamlin has won this event twice in his career, as he came away with wins in both 2009 and 2010. Jimmie Johnson has also won twice in his career, and he also did it in back-to-back years (2007, 2008). Chevrolet is the manufacturer that has done the best in Richmond historically, but a driver handling a Toyota or Ford manufactured car has won in each of the past four races. With that being said, let’s now take a look at who might be winning this race on Saturday:

Kyle Busch (6-to-1) - Kyle Busch has never won the Federated Auto Parts 400, but he will be looking to change that this weekend. Busch has been excellent here in the past, as he has five top-five finishes here in his career. Last year, Busch came in second place and he should be ready to break through on Saturday. In the first practice round of the week, Busch finished with the best speed of anybody in the field. If he can avoid making a major mistake then it’s hard to imagine him not being right around the top of the leaderboard in this one. Backing Busch at 6-to-1 is certainly one of the better ways to play this race.

Martin Truex Jr. (12-to-1) - Truex Jr. is the hottest driver in the Sprint Cup Series coming into this one. As previously mentioned, Truex Jr. won last week’s Bojangles’ Southern 500 and he will now be looking to make it two straight victories heading into the postseason. Although he has never cracked the top-five at Richmond, Truex Jr. is still worth backing at 12-to-1 in this race. His confidence is through the roof right now and he also happens to have had the second-best practice round in the field. He should make things very interesting on Saturday and he has as good a shot as any to help you cash.

Jimmie Johnson (12-to-1) - As mentioned earlier, Jimmie Johnson has won this event twice in his career and he will certainly be fired up to go out there and try to win his third. Not only will Johnson be motivated to do that, but he also could use a good performance after last week’s disappointing outing. Johnson came in 33rd at the Bojangles’ Southern 500 and that means that he needs a good finish here even more than usual. He’s also a very safe pick to be in contention in this one, as Johnson has finished inside the top-10 in five races here in his career. Backing him at 12-to-1 is a low risk move for a half-unit or so.

Jamie McMurray (100-to-1) - McMurray is a guy to consider if you want to hop on a dark horse for this race. He has been driving very well recently, as he has five top-10 finishes in his past eight races. He also happens to be very good at Richmond, as he has two top-five finishes in the past three of these races. McMurray had the ninth-best practice time in the first run, which is a sign that he has not lost his magic here at all. He’s worth putting a half-unit on at 100-to-1.
