NEW YORK JETS (1-3)
at PITTSBURGH STEELERS (3-1)

Heinz Field – Pittsburgh, PA
Kickoff: Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET
Line: Pittsburgh -7.0, Total: 48

The Jets will be hoping to get back on track with a win over the high-powered Steelers on Sunday.

New York has been absolutely horrible over the past few weeks, as the Jets have lost their last two games by a combined score of 51-20. The play of QB Ryan Fitzpatrick (1,012 yards, 4 TD, 10 INT) certainly hasn’t helped, as he has thrown nine interceptions over the past two weeks. The Steelers, meanwhile, look like one of the most dominant teams in football, as they are coming off of a 43-14 victory as three-point home favorites against the Chiefs. That same Kansas City team defeated New York 24-3 as a three-point home favorite in Week 3. The Steelers have also gotten the best of their head-to-head series with the Jets over the years, going 8-4 SU and 7-5 ATS when facing New York since 1992. That record is even better at home, as Pittsburgh is 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS when playing the Jets at Heinz Field. One thing favoring the Jets, though, is that Mike Tomlin is just 3-11 ATS against teams with a turnover margin of -1 per game or worse since joining the Steelers. He is, however, an impressive 19-7 ATS in a home game where the total is between 42.5 and 49 points with Pittsburgh. RB Matt Forte (Leg) is expected to play in this one for the Jets, but WR Eric Decker (Shoulder) is out indefinitely. For the Steelers, LBs Ryan Shazier (Knee) and Jarvis Jones (Ankle) are both listed as questionable.

New York has had a forgettable past two weeks and Ryan Fitzpatrick is a huge reason for that. As previously mentioned, Fitzpatrick has already thrown 10 interceptions on the year and he will need to take better care of the ball moving forward. He has WR Brandon Marshall (16 rec, 249 yards, 1 TD) at his disposal, so throwing it up to that big target should make things easier on him. Expect a huge dosage of Marshall in this one, as he had four receptions for 89 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks last week and his knee was in a lot better shape than it was in previous weeks. The Jets could also use some good running from RB Matt Forte (288 yards, 3 TD) in this one. Forte rushed for just 27 yards on 14 carries against the Seahawks last week and that is not going to cut it against Pittsburgh. Look for New York to try to get some more out of him in the passing game on Sunday, as it’s an easy way to get him the ball in the open field. Defensively, the Jets will need their secondary to step it up on Sunday. CB Darrelle Revis (16 tackles) has not yet recorded an interception this season and that’s got to change sometime soon. He is supposed to be New York’s best corner and will need to find a way to make plays against Antonio Brown in this one.

RB Le’Veon Bell returned to action for the Steelers last week and he showed no signs of rust after his three-game suspension. Bell rushed for 144 yards on 18 carries in the game and also added five receptions for 34 yards. He is clearly the best running back in the league at this point in his career and the Steelers are going to do everything they can to get him touches in this one. Bell lined up at receiver a few times against Kansas City and you can expect him to do that again on Sunday. It’s an easy way for him to get open, as he’ll be running routes against a pretty non-existent Jets secondary. With that being said, QB Ben Roethlisberger (1,116 yards, 11 TD, 4 INT) and WR Antonio Brown (28 rec, 369 yards, 4 TD) should connect on a number of big plays in this one. Defensively, the Steelers will likely need to just sit back and allow the Jets to beat themselves. If they can stay on Marshall and get some pressure on Fitzpatrick then the Jets quarterback will surely make a few mistakes.
