The Raiders will be hoping to stay hot with a road victory over the Redskins on Sunday night.

Oakland improved to 2-0 both SU and ATS with a 45-20 beatdown over the Jets last week. The Raiders racked up 410 total yards in that game, which is not something they’ll be able to repeat very often moving forward. The Redskins, meanwhile, were able to avoid an 0-2 start with a 27-20 victory as three-point road underdogs against the Rams last week. Washington had been coming off of an embarrassing 30-17 home loss against Philadelphia in Week 1, so the team definitely needed to get back on track. The Redskins now have a good chance to get back over the .500 mark, as they’re facing a Raiders team that needs to fly across the country for this contest. Oakland is, however, 3-0 both SU and ATS on the road when facing Washington since 1992. The Raiders also happen to be 8-1 ATS in road games in the first half of the season under head coach Jack Del Rio. And for those interested in the total in this one, Jay Gruden is 6-0 Over off an upset win as a road underdog as the coach of Washington. He’s also 18-6 Over after allowing six or more yards per play in the previous game in his time with the team. One injury that is worth pointing out is that RB Rob Kelley (Ribs) is questionable for this one.

The Raiders are going for a 3-0 start on Sunday night and RB Marshawn Lynch (121 yards, 1 TD) is a guy to keep an eye on here. Playing on primetime television, Lynch is going to want to show out and prove to fans around the league that he still has it. You can count on him having a big game, too. Last week, Todd Gurley absolutely toyed with this Redskins defense. The Raiders’ offense is a lot more unpredictable, so Washington won’t be able to stack the box against Lynch. As for the passing game, QB Derek Carr (492 yards, 5 TD, 0 INT) is going to do what he can to avoid throwing at Josh Norman here. Norman will likely spend most of his time on WR Amari Cooper (9 rec, 95 yards, 1 TD), so that means that WR Michael Crabtree (12 rec, 163 yards, 3 TD) could be in for a huge day. Crabtree had three touchdowns against the Jets last week, and it’s not hard to imagine him finding the end zone again here. He is one of the better red zone targets in the league. On defense, the Raiders will want to do what they can to put pressure on Cousins. There won’t be much of a threat of the running game, so Oakland can devote most of its attention to stopping the pass.

The Redskins can really use a victory on Sunday, as they don’t want to lose a second straight home game. They also don’t want to fall to 1-2 early on, as it’s never easy to dig yourself out of a whole in this league. If Washington is going to win this one then QB Kirk Cousins (419 yards, 2 TD, 1 INT) better bring his A-game. There could potentially be a lot of points scored by the Raiders in this contest, so Cousins will need to find a way to match the production of Derek Carr. One thing he’d be wise to do is help get WR Terrelle Pryor (8 rec, 97 yards) going. Pryor was the Redskins’ prized acquisition in the offseason, but he has not yet played well for them. He is, however, far too talented to continue to struggle for long, so don’t be surprised if this is his breakout game. It helps that he’s going against an Oakland secondary that is not very good. Defensively, the Redskins must be better against the run than they were last week. If they allow Lynch to go off then they won’t have much of a chance here.
