AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Two Auburn newcomers are the front-runners to win the starting quarterback job, while a former starter is switching positions.

Coach Gus Malzahn said Monday that Nick Marshall and Jeremy Johnson will get the majority of practice repetitions this week, but didn't completely rule out Jonathan Wallace coming back to win the job.

He says onetime starter Kiehl Frazier voluntarily moved to safety in Monday's practice. Frazier was one of the nation's top quarterback prospects but struggled the past two seasons.

He and Wallace both started games last season, when the Tigers struggled offensively.

Marshall is a junior college transfer who had 3,000 yards passing and 1,000 yards rushing as a sophomore. Johnson was Alabama's Mr. Football and a highly rated prospect.

The Tigers open Aug. 31 against Washington State.
