NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Suspended Vanderbilt wide receiver Christopher Boyd has entered a conditional guilty plea to a role in attempting to cover up the rape of an unconscious student.
Deputy Attorney General Tom Thurman said in court on Friday that Boyd received text messages and phone calls from dismissed player Brandon Vandenburg about the woman June 23.
The prosecutor said Boyd went to Vandenburg's dorm and found the woman unconscious and partially clothed in the hallway. Thurman said Boyd lifted the woman and into Vandenburg's bed and left. He advised Vandenburg to delete video evidence and tell no one what happened.
Boyd was given an 11-month, 29-day suspended sentence for pleading guilty to being an accessory after the fact. If he successfully completes his unsupervised probation, his record will be cleared.
