PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh quarterback Tom Savage is recovering from concussion-like symptoms and is expected to play on Oct. 12 against Virginia Tech.
Savage left last Saturday's 14-3 win over Virginia in the fourth quarter after taking a helmet-to-helmet shot from Cavaliers defensive back Daquan Romero. Wide receiver Tyler Boyd described Savage as ``drowsy'' on the sideline while wide receiver Devin Street called Savage ``dazed.''
Pitt spokesman E.J. Borghetti said Monday that Savage is only dealing with ``mild symptoms'' and is making progress.
Savage completed 13 of 30 passes for 190 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions while also enduring seven sacks against the Cavaliers. Pitt (3-1, 2-1 ACC) has won three straight games for the first time since 2010. The Panthers are off this week.
