CINCINNATI (AP) - The Bearcats are getting back to football while still trying to get over the death of a freshman teammate and the serious injury to another.

Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Ben Flick of Hamilton, Ohio, was killed in a traffic accident on his way back from a game in Oxford, Ohio on Sept. 21.

Two redshirt freshman receivers also in the vehicle were injured. Mark Barr of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., remains in serious condition in intensive care, coach Tommy Tuberville said on Tuesday. The other has been released. The driver of the vehicle - a Miami University student - was killed.

Flick was buried during the Bearcats' bye week. Cincinnati (3-1) opens its American Athletic Conference schedule on Saturday at South Florida (0-4).
