BOSTON (AP) - Boston College running back Andre Williams has done everything his coach demanded of him to get his visor back.
BC coach Steve Addazio told Williams that he could have an eye shield on his helmet if he ran for 200 yards in a game. Williams picked up 263 yards and five touchdowns in Saturday's 48-27 victory over Army.
Williams told the blog ajerseyguy.com that he used the visor all last year and during spring ball. But it was missing when he received his helmet this season.
He told Addazio he likes it because the artificial turf is sprinkled with rubber pellets that make it softer and more like natural grass. The pellets get kicked into his eyes.
Addazio says if he had just set a career best, he wouldn't change anything.
