PITTSBURGH (AP) - Pittsburgh coach Paul Chryst says he needs to do a better job of preparing his players after a 24-21 loss to Navy last weekend.
Several Panthers said they felt the team was overconfident while playing the Midshipmen. Pitt took a seven-point lead in the fourth quarter only to have Navy score twice in the final 4 minutes, including the winning field goal with no time remaining.
Chryst says if his players take any opponent for granted, they're respecting the game. He says it's up to the coaching staff to fix it.
The Panthers (4-3, 2-2 ACC) must find a way to rebound before facing a bigger, faster version of Navy's triple-option attack on Saturday when they face Georgia Tech (6-2, 4-2 ACC).
