DALLAS (AP) - Jurors are deliberating former Dallas Cowboys player Josh Brent's sentence for his intoxication manslaughter conviction in the death of a former teammate.
The jury began deliberating Brent's sentence Friday. The one-time defensive tackle could get up to 20 years in prison or as little as probation for the December 2012 drunken car crash that killed practice squad linebacker Jerry Brown.
Brent and Brown also played together at the University of Illinois and were good friends.
The two were driving home at the end of a night partying with teammates when Brent lost control of his Mercedes and crashed on a suburban Dallas highway.
