CINCINNATI (AP) - Munchie Legaux isn't giving up on his football career.
Cincinnati's starting quarterback suffered a horrific injury during the second game last season, tearing two ligaments and damaging cartilage in his left knee. The surgery went well, but doctors told him there was no guarantee he'd be able to play again.
Legaux got an extra season of eligibility from the NCAA and is back on the practice field with the Bearcats in an extremely limited role. He made a few passes during a drill on Thursday. He can't run and is several months away from a full recovery.
The Bearcats have several quarterbacks competing for the starting job. Legaux would be satisfied even if he ends up in a backup role.
