Winners of four in a row, the Calgary Stampeders will host the Edmonton Eskimos on Monday afternoon. As Calgary has strung together a nice winning streak, Edmonton has managed to lose three in a row after a powerful 5-0 start to the season.

The Eskimos have lost four straight games ATS and have struggled in September in the past, going 8-21 in their past 29 September games. The Stampeders have won four in row ATS and unlike Edmonton have had success in September (19-7 ATS). Calgary also loves to face the Eskimos, going 7-1 SU (6-2 ATS) in the past eight meetings, outscoring them by an average of 36 to 17. The pick here is CALGARY to win and cover the hefty spread.

Edmonton looked like the team to beat to start the season, but it might not score at all if its scoring trends continue on Monday. The Eskimos suffered their first loss Aug. 6 against Winnipeg, scoring only 16 points. The next game they tallied a mere four points at Montreal, and last game they were beaten soundly at home by B.C. 36 to 1. Edmonton QB Ricky Ray threw for only 81 yards and three interceptions in the humiliating defeat to the Lions.

Calgary finds itself in first place in the West Division after winning four straight games. Quarterback Henry Burris was a man possessed in last week’s 38-31 win against Montreal, throwing for 422 yards and three touchdowns. In Burris’ past three games, he has thrown for 1,061 yards and 7 TD, but more importantly he has thrown zero interceptions.
