Thirty players remain standing for this week’s TOUR Championship. Just four former TOUR Championship winners will tee off this week at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, including a couple of two-time winners. Here’s the five best bets…

Tiger Woods (9/2): While Rory McIlroy comes into this week on fire, consider Woods as the real favorite here. He’s come back to win on some of his old favorite tracks this season, and East Lake is definitely one of those favorites. Woods absolutely destroyed this course in 2007, starting off 64-63-64 and shooting 23-under in an eight-stroke win.

Jim Furyk (25/1): He’s one of just four former winners in this field, and Furyk won the last time he made the TOUR Championship, in 2010, and has finished top-10 in his past three starts here. At 25-to-1, he’s as good a value as you’ll get in a small field.

Rory McIlroy (4/1): Obviously, no one’s playing better in the world right now, as McIlroy has won three of his past four starts. But he’s never played East Lake, which makes him an uncomfortable risk at just 4-to-1.

Luke Donald (20/1): He hasn’t made a lot of noise of late, but Donald always plays well at East Lake. He finished third last year and second in 2010. He enters this week second on the Tour in putting (.792 strokes gained)

Brandt Snedeker (30/1): The Tour’s best putter, both anecdotally and statistically (.809 strokes gained), Snedeker always has a chance. He didn’t play particularly well at Crooked Stick two weeks ago, but finished sixth in Boston and runner-up at Bethpage before that.
