SAN ANTONIO SPURS (13-3)

at MIAMI HEAT (10-3)

Tip-off: Thursday, 8:05 p.m. ET
Line: Miami -6, Total: 205

The best of the East meets with the best of the West Thursday night as the Heat host the Spurs.

The Spurs have been performing well, even with injuries to Stephen Jackson (finger) and Kawhi Leonard (knee). The problem is that they are running into a Heat team that scores at will, averaging 104.8 PPG overall (2nd in NBA) and an amazing 114.8 PPG in six home games. Miami has won four in row SU, but failed to cover the past two, allowing 107.0 PPG. The Spurs too have won five straight, but the best team they played on that winning streak was Boston who is struggling this season at 8-7.

StatFox Scott is 5-2 ATS over the past five days and is at 58% ATS (22-16) Best Bets for the season. For NBA Totals, StatFox Scott is 13-3 (81%) since Nov. 16, boosting his incredible season mark to 31-9 (78%) on NBA Totals. Gary is a perfect 7-0 in Totals in the past five days.

The Spurs have won five straight games and have scored at least 110 points in four of those five games. Tim Duncan is having another spectacular season, averaging 18.4 PPG and 9.8 RPG. He has been a force in the paint for the Spurs and a lot of that has to do with the continued excellence of PG Tony Parker. Over the past five games, Parker is averaging 24.0 PPG and 6.2 APG on 60% shooting. The loss of Leonard and Jackson has been tough to overcome for the Spurs, but they’ve more than handled it over the course of the season.

Miami has won four straight games since losing to the Clippers on the road on November 14. LeBron James is on an absolute tear, averaging 26.5 PPG, 7.5 RPG and 7.0 APG during the four-game win streak, while also averaging 1.3 BPG and 1.0 SPG on the other end. Dwyane Wade is starting to come into his own as well, averaging 23.0 PPG over the past two games. Chris Bosh has been the most consistent player for the Heat this season and has played his best basketball when the team has needed him most. Bosh is averaging 19.2 PPG and 9.2 RPG over the past five games and 20.2 PPG and 8.1 RPG on the season. The team's most versatile defender, SF Shane Battier, is out for the Heat with a knee injury, which is one of the reasons they allowed 106 points to Milwaukee and 108 points to Cleveland in their past two games.
