DENVER NUGGETS (8-7)

at GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS (8-6)

Tip-off: Thursday, 10:35 p.m. ET
Line: Denver -1.5, Total: 199.5

Denver heads into Golden State for what should be a high-scoring matchup with the Warriors on Thursday night.

The Nuggets are riding a five-game ATS win streak, failing to extend their SU streak past four games when they lost 105-103 at Utah on Monday. The Warriors are also hot, going 5-2 (SU and ATS) in their past seven games, which includes a perfect 3-0 home mark (SU and ATS). But one of those losses came last Friday in Denver (102-93), and the Nuggets also won a 107-101 double-overtime game in Oakland on Nov. 10.

The Nuggets are playing very good basketball as of late and they are doing so in a variety of ways. They are a balanced basketball team with six players who scored in double-digits in Wednesday night’s loss to the Jazz. Andre Iguodala has found his rhythm in Denver and is now averaging 17.4 PPG on 52% FG (47% threes) over the past five games. This is a dangerous team when Iguodala is scoring the basketball and he’ll have plenty of opportunities to do that with the likely absence of Gallinari. Ty Lawson is starting to find his game for Denver as he is putting up 15.6 PPG and 7.4 APG while shooting 47% FG over the past five games, compared to his 12.1 PPG and 7.5 APG on 38% shooting in his first 10 games of the season. Kenneth Faried has been brilliant all season with averages of 13.5 PPG and 11.3 RPG in just 30.9 MPG.

The Golden State Warriors are also playing solid basketball in the month of November. The Warriors have won five of their last seven games and have done so behind their franchise point guard, Stephen Curry. Curry is averaging 20.8 PPG and 5.6 APG over the last five, while shooting 45% from the field and 52% from three. However, last Friday, Lawson and Iguodala were all over him defensively, holding Curry to a paltry six points (2-of-5 FG) and forcing him to commit four turnovers. Golden State will likely be without SF Richard Jefferson (calf) in this one, but that loss wouldn’t be too much to overcome as Jefferson is averaging only 4.2 PPG on the season. David Lee has been on a tear recently, averaging 12.0 RPG to go along with 18.8 PPG over the past five games. Lee is also a tremendous passer at the power forward position, averaging 4.2 APG over the past five games and 3.7 APG on the entire season.
