LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS (14-6)
at CHICAGO BULLS (11-8)
Tip-off: Tuesday, 9:35 p.m. ET Line: Los Angeles -3, Total: 187.5 The Clippers look to keep a six-game winning streak alive when they visit Chicago, which is riding a three-game winning streak of its own. The Clippers have been on fire since the initial return of Chauncey Billups, who is now out two weeks with tendinitis in his left foot. They have surpassed 100 points in each of the six victories and are doing so behind one of the best benches in the NBA. The Bulls are also hot with a 5-1 SU (4-2 ATS) mark in the past six games, holding five of these opponents to less than 90 points. The last time these two teams met on Nov. 17, the Clippers crushed the Bulls 101-80. Which team will keep its win streak intact on Tuesday? The Clippers are streaking because of a very balanced attack. They are getting a lot out of their bench that combined for 47 points in the Clippers’ win over the Raptors. Chris Paul is averaging 14.8 PPG and 8.4 APG in just 29.2 MPG over the past five games. In those games, he is shooting 54% from the field. He has been well-rested the past two weeks and is playing some highly efficient basketball. Over the same five games, Blake Griffin has only played 30.4 MPG, but has averaged 21.2 PPG and 10.0 RPG. He has really started to make strides for the Clippers and his improvements are making them one of the best teams in the Western Conference. The Bulls are on a three-game winning streak, and a lot of that has to do with the play of Marco Belinelli, who is averaging 20.3 PPG during the surge. He scored 22 points in Saturday’s big win over New York. The Bulls defense was superb in that game, allowing only 85 points on 32.1% FG against a team that averages 102.8 PPG. Joakim Noah has been on a tear for the Bulls, averaging 20.0 PPG and 17.0 RPG over the past two contests. The Bulls could be without starting point guard Kirk Hinrich in this one, as he is day-to-day with an injured elbow.
