HOUSTON (AP) -Houston offensive lineman Jerrod Butler passed out while lifting weights Monday but was recovering at a Houston hospital.

The 20-year-old lost consciousness about 9 a.m. and was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was in stable condition, associate athletic director Chris Burkhalter said.

No other details on the incident involving the 6-foot-2, 330-pound sophomore were immediately available. Burkhalter referred further questions to team trainer Mike O'Shea, who didn't immediately return a call from The Associated Press on Monday.
