LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -Kansas swamped Nebraska 48-24 in the first half Saturday, setting a record for points scored against the hapless Huskers in the first two quarters.

Todd Reesing passed for four touchdowns and Brandon McAnderson rushed for three as No. 8 Kansas scored touchdowns on its last seven possessions of the half.

Reesing was 20-of-28 for 273 yards in the first half for the Jayhawks, one of five unbeaten major colleges teams. His 21 touchdown passes set the Kansas single-season record.

He might also be in line to become the fifth player in a row named Big 12 offensive player of the week after playing the Huskers, who were trying to avoid their first five-game losing streak since 1958. The honor in the past four weeks went to Chase Daniel of Missouri, Dantrell Savage of Oklahoma State, Stephen McGee of Texas A&M, and Jamaal Charles of Texas.

Reesing, a sophomore who still has not lost as a college starter, threw touchdown passes of 13 yards to Kerry Meier, 26 yards to Jake Sharp, 5 yards to Marcus Henry and 13 yards to Dezmon Briscoe. McAnderson scored on runs of 2, 9 and 1 yards.

Nebraska has won 37 of the last 38 meetings in the series, and it's the first time since 1974 the two have met when Kansas had the better record.
