STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -Penn State police have arrested a suspended football player after they say he threatened another student.

Receiver Chris Bell faces charges including terroristic threats and simple assault in connection with the encounter Monday night at a dining hall.

A police log Tuesday said officers responded to the scene after there was a report of someone threatening another person with a knife. Police say Bell was arrested a short time later.

He was arraigned Monday night and sent to Centre County prison in lieu of $50,000 bail. A court employee says Bell did not have a lawyer at his arraignment.

The backup wideout was suspended from the team in February for off-field issues.
