STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -Penn State linebacker Sean Lee tore a knee ligament during practice and most likely will miss next season.

He injured the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Friday. Lee will have surgery within the next month and then will need about nine months of rehabilitation, the team doctor said.

Lee, the leading returning tackler for the Nittany Lions, has a year of eligibility left. He was expected to be a captain this year.
