ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -The Denver Broncos have named Jim Goodman vice president of football operations/player personnel and hired former Atlanta Falcons executive Brian Xanders as assistant general manager.

Xanders spent the last 14 seasons in Atlanta. He's in charge of the Broncos' salary cap and will assist in personnel matters.

Goodman served as Denver's director of player personnel for the last two years and has worked in the club's player personnel department for the last decade. He'll oversee the day-to-day football operations and continue to run the Broncos' scouting department.

Xanders will work with assistant GM Jeff Goodman, who oversees pro personnel and handles contract negotiations.

The Goodmans had their duties expanded after coach Mike Shanahan fired general manager Ted Sundquist this spring. The Goodmans and Xanders all report to Shanahan.

The Broncos also named Anthony Kelly as assistant coordinator of pro and college scouting.
