BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) -California tight end Cameron Morrah entered the NFL draft on Monday, foregoing his senior season apparently against the advice of coach Jeff Tedford.

Morrah had 27 receptions for 326 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior last season for the Golden Bears (9-4). The 6-foot-4 pass-catcher started just 19 games in his three seasons at Cal, only emerging as a consistent offensive threat in 2008.

``We work with NFL candidates to educate them on their prospects for the draft as well as the benefits for staying in college,'' Tedford said. ``I don't necessarily agree with the decision, but I am supportive of Cameron and hope that he is successful at the next level.''

Morrah, who drew the attention of NFL scouts last season for his size and mobility, is the third Cal player to leave early in three years, joining tailback Marshawn Lynch and receiver DeSean Jackson. Tedford supported Lynch and Jackson in their decisions.

Cal is deep at tight end, with Tad Smith returning alongside youngsters Anthony Miller and Spencer Ladner. Miller scored the winning touchdown in last month's Emerald Bowl against Miami on his first career reception.
