ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -Michigan freshman receiver Darryl Stonum has been sentenced to a year's probation for driving while impaired.

The Michigan Daily in Ann Arbor reports Wednesday that Stonum also must attend substance abuse education, a drunken driving victims panel, and complete three days in a jail community work program.

He was charged last fall with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license. He later pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle while visibly impaired.

Stonum, from Stafford, Texas, caught 14 passes for 176 yards and a touchdown last season.
