Niners sign long snapper to 5-year extension

SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) -The San Francisco 49ers have signed long snapper Brian Jennings to a five-year contract extension.

Jennings has been one of the NFL's most consistent long snappers since the 49ers drafted him in 2000, even making the Pro Bowl in 2004 as a special selection by NFC coach Jim Mora.

Jennings and linebacker Jeff Ulbrich are the 49ers' longest-tenured players, both entering their 10th seasons with the club.
