NEW ORLEANS (AP) -The New Orleans Saints have been on a record scoring pace during their 6-0 start, and it isn't just their vaunted offense putting points on the board.

Big plays by the defense were part of the reason the Saints scored 43 points in the last 30:02 minutes of Sunday's 46-34 victory at Miami. New Orleans' first touchdown was set up by a fumble recovery late in the first half. Then came two interceptions returned for scores in the second half.

The Saints have scored 45 or more points in four games. They've averaged 39.7 points per game through their first six games, putting them on pace to challenge the single-season scoring record owned by the 2007 New England Patriots, who averaged 36.8 points en route to a 16-0 regular season.
