AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -No 3 Texas has 15 turnovers this season but hasn't paid much of a price for it.

The defense simply won't allow it.

On the ensuing drives after the turnovers, opponents have scored just one touchdown and one field goal. Seven of those drives went for negative yards. Four ended when the defense got the ball right back with a fumble recovery or interception of their own.

Defensive coordinator Will Muschamp says he tells the defense they are the firemen and it's their job to put out the fire.

They've snuffed out just about everything so far.

The only time opposing offenses scored after a Texas turnover came when Louisiana-Monroe kicked a field goal in the first game and when Colorado scored a touchdown after recovering a fumble inside the Texas 10.
