Another full weekend of NBA basketball is on tap, and in the early going, the major stories seem to be not about who’s doing what, but more about who’s not doing what. Don’t be confused, what I’m really trying to get across is how Cleveland and the Lakers are struggling, particularly where bettors are concerned. Through Thursday’s action, these conference favorites are 2-9 against the spread, and bankrolls are already bleeding because of it. Well, the Cavs will be in New York on Friday night, and Los Angeles faces two games over the next three days to try and get it turned around quickly. Let’s take a look at all of the key games on tap, as well as some of the top StatFox Power Trends to consider in your wagering action.

Friday’s schedule is loaded with 13 games, and the league’s two remaining unbeaten clubs will both be in action. Boston is off to a fast start at 6-0 and will be hosting Phoenix, who shares the lead in the Pacific Division at 4-1 after a week-and-a-half. The Celtics have had their way with the Suns of late, having won three straight head-to-head matchups by at least 17 points each time. The Nuggets, winners of their first five games, will face their toughest test of the season on paper when they head to Miami. On paper is the key word here, as the Heat may be improved and playing at home, but Denver has beaten them eight straight times. On the TV for Friday night is ESPN’s usual doubleheader, with Cleveland taking on New York in the opener, and San Antonio visiting Portland in the nightcap. Finally, Kobe & the Lakers will look for their first pointspread win of the season when they welcome Memphis to town.

On Saturday, there are seven games to choose from, and the two unbeatens will both be on the road. If Denver and Boston survive Friday’s action, they will put their undefeated marks on the line in back-to-back situations at Atlanta, and New Jersey, respectively. Meanwhile, Chicago, fresj off its upset win at Cleveland on Thursday night, will play host to Charlotte, and Dallas, still stinging from its meltdown at New Orleans on Wednesday, will welcome Toronto to town.

Sunday’s board features six games, including two contests that will tip-off at the same time that the NFL action gets going. 1:00 PM ET. In those games, Detroit will host Philadelphia, and Phoenix will visit Washington. Keep in mind that the Pistons have covered just three of their L17 Sunday games. In the early evening, Orlando, off to a fast start itself, will head to Oklahoma City to take on a much improved Thunder squad. Finally, two of the West’s favorites, Portland & Los Angeles, will host late night games, with Minnesota and New Orleans traveling cross country.

If figures to be a strong weekend of NBA hoops. It could be profitable too if these Top StatFox Power Trends continue for another three days.
