MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - A year ago, the goal at Ball State was to get the football program back on track.
In 2012, the expectations are higher. Players are talking about division and Mid-American Conference championships and bowl appearances - things that haven't been uttered around Muncie, Ind., since Brady Hoke left after the 2008 season.
The credit goes largely to new coach Pete Lembo. After beating Indiana in last year's season-opener, the Cardinals believe that his system works.
The first test is Aug. 27 at home against Eastern Michigan.
