KEY MATCHUP South Carolina tailback Marcus Lattimore against East Carolina's defensive line. Lattimore was the offensive bright spot in the Gamecocks 17-13 opening win at Vanderbilt on Aug. 30 with two touchdowns and 110 yards on the ground, earning the SEC's offensive player of the week honors. Lattimore rushed for 112 yards and three touchdowns against the Pirates last September in South Carolina's 56-37 win. East Carolina allowed Appalachian State just 119 yards rushing in its opener last week. PLAYERS TO WATCH East Carolina: QB Rio Johnson. Taking over for record-setting standout Dominique Davis, Johnson threw for 242 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the 35-13 win over Appalachian State last Saturday. South Carolina: DE Jadeveon Clowney had four tackles, including a sack and another stop behind the line of scrimmage as the Gamecocks defense gave up 276 yards. It was the fifth straight time South Carolina has held an opponent to less than 300 yards of offense.
