WHAT'S AT STAKE
Clemson can continue to show its offense is more than All-American receiver Sammy Watkins, who'll sit out the last of his two-game suspension for an offseason drug arrest. The Tigers played without Watkins last week in a 26-19 victory over Auburn. Ball State will try to snap Clemson's undefeated status against the Mid-American Conference. The Tigers are 3-0 against the MAC.
Clemson QB Tajh Boyd against Ball State secondary. Boyd showed off his running skills against Auburn last week, but was still 24 of 34 for 208 yards passing. Even without Watkins lining up for Clemson, the Cardinals' defensive backs will be tested to hold down Boyd's production. WR DeAndre Hopkins set a school record with 13 catches last week. Ball State held Eastern Michigan to under 50 percent passing and 186 yards through the air, although it gave up three TD passes.
