Miami, Notre Dame to square off once again

It's Notre Dame and Miami, together again. Not Catholics vs. Convicts this time, just two programs striving to return to power.

The ninth-ranked Fighting Irish (4-0) meet the Hurricanes (4-1) at Chicago's Soldier Field on Saturday night, the first regular-season meeting between the programs since 1990.

They last played at the end of the 2010 season, with Notre Dame winning easily in the Sun Bowl.

It took two decades for the teams to decide to renew the rivalry, which was one of the best in the game during the 1980s, replete with accusations of the Hurricanes running up the score, someone leaking former Miami coach Jimmy Johnson's phone number to Irish fans and a need for police to break up a fracas between the teams before kickoff.
