NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Bob Stoops has been eager to point out that the only two losses his Oklahoma team has suffered this season came in close games against opponents currently ranked in the top 5.

The bottom line for the 14th-ranked Sooners (5-2), though, is that they still came up short on their home field.

Oklahoma was trailing by four and had the ball against Kansas State in the fourth quarter, but committed a penalty and then went three-and-out before allowing the Wildcats to tack another touchdown onto their lead.

The Sooners then rallied to tie their game against Notre Dame at 13 in the fourth quarter, only to allow 17 unanswered points to let that one slip away.

In such close games, Stoops says the Sooners must simply find a way to make one more play.
