LANDOVER, Md. (AP) - Carolina Panthers receiver Brandon LaFell is inactive against the Washington Redskins, a week after taking a shot to the head.

LaFell is third on the Panthers with 20 catches for 367 yards and a team-leading two touchdown receptions. Chicago Bears safety Chris Conte was fined $21,000 by the NFL for his hit on LaFell.

Louis Murphy is expected to start in LaFell's place against Washington.

Panthers defensive tackle Dwan Edwards is active Sunday after injuring an ankle against Chicago.

As expected, Redskins receiver Pierre Garcon is inactive for the sixth time this season because of a right foot injury.
