NEW YORK (AP) - Comments on the St. Louis Rams by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):
ST. LOUIS RAMS (25)
Chris Berman (ESPN, 22) - Should have beaten 49ers.
Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 22) - Maybe coach Jeff Fisher should make more players run the stairs.
Cris Collinsworth (NBC Sports, 26)
Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 29) - Encouraged by the play of Bradford last week.
Bob Glauber (Newsday, 24) - Rams nearly pull off huge upset, and Greg "The Leg" Zeurlein's 53-yard field goal in OT appeared to win it. Nope. Penalty. 58-yarder no good. Settle for the tie. Still an impressive effort for an improving team.
Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 23) - Steven Jackson has rushed for a disappointing 504 yards this season, averaging a paltry 3.7 yards per carry for the 3-5-1 Rams.
Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 20) - After what happened in overtime, coach Jeff Fisher and his assistants should join Janoris Jenkins and Chris Givens running stadium steps.
Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 23) - A very good showing at San Francisco could spark a November run.
Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 26) - The Rams will be a dangerous team down the stretch with an improving pass rush, and Sam Bradford is starting to return to 2010 form, especially with Danny Amendola back on the field. They will move up the power rankings in the next few weeks.
John Lynch (Fox Sports, 25) - The Rams had an opportunity to beat the 49er's as Greg Zuerlein kicked a 53-yard field goal ... but wait, delay of game and then even "Greg the Leg" couldn't make a 58 yarder. So it's a tie.
Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 23) - Sam Bradford's strong play at San Francisco was a reminder that he still may develop into a bona fide franchise quarterback after regressing in 2011.
Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 21) - It is not true that Chris Givens and Janoris Jenkins were running up the stairs at Candlestick Park because they were really hungry and wanted to catch the hot dog vendor.
