NEW YORK (AP) - Comments on the St. Louis Rams by the AP Pro32 panel (ranking in parentheses):

---

ST. LOUIS RAMS (26)

Chris Berman (ESPN, 25) - Disappointing home efforts.

Clifton Brown (Sporting News, 28) - Still need more overall talent to compete at on a consistent basis.

Rich Gannon (CBS Sports/SiriusXM NFL Radio, 29) - Both surprised and disappointed they didn't play better last week, especially since I picked them to win.

Bob Glauber (Newsday, 26) - So much for that. A week after the Rams tie the mighty 49ers on the road, they come up small at home against the Jets. Not the kind of payback former Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer was looking for.

Rick Gosselin (Dallas Morning News, 25) - The Rams have gone eight consecutive seasons without qualifying for the playoffs. At 3-6-1, you can tack on a ninth year to that postseason drought.

Clark Judge (CBSSports.com, 25) - This is what I don't understand about these guys: How in the world did they tie the 49ers?

Ira Kaufman (Tampa Tribune, 26) - Jeff Fisher thought he'd be a little further along at this juncture.

Pat Kirwan (SiriusXM NFL Radio/CBSSports.com, 26) - I thought they had enough to beat the Jets, but of course they didn't get it done. Fisher will need a whole season to figure out what he has to do next year to improve this roster. For now they should be satisfied to get to six wins.

John Lynch (Fox Sports, 24) - Fresh off a tie with the 49ers in San Francisco, the Rams laid an egg against the Jets.

Alex Marvez (Foxsports.com, 26) - After a gritty 24-24 tie at San Francisco, it's hard to believe this was the same Rams team that was manhandled at home against the Jets.

Dan Pompei (Chicago Tribune, 22) - Just when you think the Rams are turning the corner, they run into a wall.
