AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - The status of Auburn coach Gene Chizik could become official soon. University President Jay Gogue is expected to make a decision on whether to keep or fire Chizik on Sunday or Monday. Auburn spokesman Mike Clardy said Sunday the president ``is standing by his plan to evaluate coaches after the season.'' Clardy says he doesn't know what the timetable is. The Tigers finished a 3-9 season with a 49-0 loss to No. 2 Alabama. Auburn lost all eight Southeastern Conference games two years after winning a national title. It's the worst two-year fall of any Associated Press national champion. The Tigers lost their final three SEC games by a combined 150-21. Cam Newton led them to a 14-0 season and the program's first national title since 1957 two years ago.
